ULI K HIKE & YOGA

Philanthropy

Leading a life of service and community has always been important to me. When I wasn’t raising my 2 children, I spent most of the last 20 years actively working with charitable organizations, raising funds, and volunteering in various capacities. My focus has been on cancer research and prevention, and advocating for families and children.

UliK Hike & Yoga will hold regular retreat days benefitting the two local organizations listed below that I have been involved with over the years.

Breast Cancer Prevention Partners

 

Cancer Research and Prevention has been dear to my heart since losing my own brother to the disease and witnessing numerous friends and their families being affected as well. In 2006, I ran a marathon benefitting the work of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. And in 2016 I climbed Mount Shasta, raising funds to support the incredible research and prevention work of the Breast Cancer Prevention Partners. For over 25 years, BCPP has been the leading science-based policy and advocacy organization, working to prevent breast cancer by eliminating our exposure to toxic chemicals and radiation. Their focus is on the intersection of breast cancer prevention and environmental health.

Bridge the Gap College Prep

 

I am committed to supporting children’s charitable organizations. The mission of Bridge the Gap College Prep is to provide comprehensive educational, social, and emotional support – with the goal that every Marin City youth completes high school and graduates from college.  Research continues to demonstrate that the most powerful way for under-resourced and first-generation students to achieve a lifetime of increased opportunity and earnings is through higher education. My family has been actively involved with Bridge the Gap over the last 5 years, where my children and husband volunteer as a tutors.

IT IS ALWAYS A JOY TO SPEND A FEW HOURS OR A WHOLE DAY EXPLORING MARIN’S NATURALLY GORGEOUS TERRAIN WITH ULRIKE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU GATHER SOME FRIENDS AND JOIN ULI K HIKE & YOGA.”
