ULI K HIKE & YOGA

About

Originally from Germany, I moved to California in December of 1996, and have been fortunate to call it home ever since. While I’ve always been drawn to exercise and the outdoors, it was my first marathon in 2006 that deepened my relationship with physical pursuits. I took on this challenge to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, with my recently diagnosed brother close to my heart. I learned what an empowering and calming impact such a challenge brought to my life. I was tested once more when my father unexpectedly died only a year later, and again I returned to my trusted allies: nature and physical challenge.

Running, hiking, trekking, and yoga have become my life passions, and I wish to share what I have learned – both physically and mentally – with you. I hope that through my hiking sessions, daily retreats, and yoga practice, you will feel refreshed and grounded, with peace and stillness that will carry you on any life journey you may be facing.

TRAINING

I have hiked extensively in Southern Marin and trekked in Peru, Patagonia, Nepal, along the PCT and John Muir trails in the High Sierra and climbed Mount Shasta. Over the past few years I have also led several hiking trips to Yosemite, Lassen, Pinnacles National Parks, Arches and Canyonlands National Parks.

Yogawork’s 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training kick-started my yoga education in 2020. I was fortunate to train under the guidance of Christy Brown who studied with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in India, Sarah Powers, T.K.V. Deskachar and H.H. the Dalai Lama. I am now a certified and Yoga Alliance registered Yoga Teacher. In February 2022, I completed my 50 Hour Insight Yoga Teacher Training with Sarah Powers, co-founder of the Insight Yoga Institute.
